How to play

  1. You get one arrow a day. It leaves the bow when you press Shoot.
  2. Five secret answers follow, each with four clues from hardest to easiest, 20 seconds a clue.
  3. Every right answer pushes the arrow. The fewer clues you needed and the quicker you were, the farther it goes.
Clue 1100 mClue 275 mClue 350 mClue 425 mMissedNo pushA clue gives its full push for 10 seconds, then slowly less, down to 80 m on clue 1 when time runs out.
  4. After the fifth answer the arrow lands. Where it lands is your score for the day.

A wrong answer or the clock opens the next clue; typos and unknown words cost nothing. Everyone gets the same five, new ones at midnight Eastern.

Editorial Methodology

Nockle is a daily global trivia game operated by Coregale. Each puzzle contains five questions. Every question has one intended answer and four clues presented from hardest to easiest.

Clues and scoring

A correct answer on clue one scores 100 points, clue two scores 75, clue three scores 50, and clue four scores 25. Earlier clues should be surprising but reasonably guessable; the final clue should identify the answer clearly within its category.

Question preparation

Clues are written as standalone factual statements in plain English. The editorial process checks clue order, answer uniqueness, category fit, accepted alternative names, and whether a clue accidentally contains the answer or one of its aliases.

Questions are prepared from verifiable information. Source references may be retained with editorial records to support review and corrections. Upcoming answers and source notes are not published in advance because doing so would spoil the daily game.

Aliases and accepted answers

Common alternative names, spellings, transliterations, abbreviations, and scientific or legal names may be accepted when they identify the same answer unambiguously. Broad or ambiguous terms are not treated as equivalent answers.

Corrections

If a clue or accepted answer appears inaccurate, contact Coregale at [email protected]. Include the puzzle date, question number, and the issue so it can be reviewed.
